Chemtex Boiler Antiscalant Chemicals for Safe & Clean Boiler System

Principal reason behind formation of boiler scales is due to precipitation of impurities and suspended solids present in feed water, used for boiler operations. Feed water contains dissolved minerals (Chloride, Sulphates, Silicates of Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Barium) and impurities (Oil Contaminants, Sludge, Lime) that in due course gets accumulated over the surface of boiler internals, leading to formation of scales. As feed water gets transferred to heater, the dissolved solids and impurities begins to precipitate at the base, the salts being left out. Continuous accumulation of salts and when it exceeds the solvency, results in formation of scales.

The presence of calcium, magnesium salts, and a high concentration of silica are the major causes of scale formation. It consists of carbonates, bicarbonates, sulphates, etc. Along with dissolved salts, there are also some suspended solids in the boiler feedwater that get precipitated as sludge. These are not hard as compared scales, but if it is overlooked, sludge gets hardened due to continuous heating in the boiler.

Characteristics of most common deposits

• Carbonate deposits, large granules and porous, forms dense and uniform pitting and scaling over the surface

• Sulphate deposits, crystalline, fine particles but a bit harder and denser than a regular carbonate deposit

• Hard and not so easy to remove silica deposits, extremely small, forms a dense and impervious scaling

• Iron deposits

Adverse effects of Scaling / Scale Deposits in Boiler Operations

·         Brings down boiler efficiency as the scale formed over the metal surface acts as heat insulator, forbidding optimum transfer of heat, causing boiler tube to overheat and fail.

·         Plugging / Irregular deterrence

·         In general, boiler deposits can cut operating efficiency,

·         Unscheduled boiler shut downs

·         Increases in damage and repair cost, at times even leading to replacement

To ensure an efficient process and quality steam production capacity of the boiler system, it is necessary to maintain correct water conditions, chemical treatment being one of the counteractive measures. Chemical treatment is necessary to remove heavy deposits of water scale and metal oxides very effectively. Since boiler operates for 24 hours every day, proper precaution should be taken to avoid any disturbance of boiler

Chemtex’s Boiler Antiscalant Chemicals are complete organic formulations, based on polyphosphates, organo-phosphonates and polyacrylics that not only helps manifesting optimum efficacy in removal of mineral scales, metal oxide, hard deposits of water scale, iron oxides, oily contaminants, sludge, lime, and greasy deposits from the boiler internals but also does not form any precipitates or leaves behind any residues. Using this formulation to inhibit scale deposition ensures complete protection of system metallurgy, providing a long service life for the boiler system. It can be directly dosed into the feeding system, reducing the usage of corrosive acid.

Features

·         Potent substitute to use of corrosive inorganic acids

·         Accidental overdosing does not possess any hazard to boiler metallurgy

·         Leaves behind no residues on metal surfaces

·         Inhibits sludge formation due to metal ions and metal oxide deposits

·         Keeps the boiler internals clean and minimizes down time for maintenance

·         Enhances heat transferability, saving energy and cost

Reverse Osmosis serves as one of the most critical processes that are involved in the process water treatment to clean water, utilized in various industrial process applications. Reverse Osmosis can be regarded as the process wherein semi-permeable membranes help in separating purified water from contaminated water. It occurs when a pressure is applied to the concentrated side of the membrane resulting in forcing purified water to the dilute side. Reverse Osmosis is very efficient for the treatment of brackish, surface and ground water for both large and small flow applications. Some examples of industries that use RO water include boiler feed water, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, metal finishing and semiconductor manufacturing to mention a few. The overall performance of a reverse osmosis system relies on various factors like feed water quality, membrane type, flow control, temperature and pressure. Systems must be well maintained for ensuring effective performance with any

Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (HOAT) Coolant

Optimal use of machines is directly proportional to its engine performance. What an engine does is it converts the supplied energy into its mechanical form, driving the machine to work. Engines require one-third of total heat that is generated during conversion and the rest of the heat is needed to be evacuated from the combustion chamber which would otherwise lead to engine failure. Earlier, water was preferred as an ideal coolant for quite a period of time but the problem started to arise when the temperature would become extremely high or low, to be precise temperature more than 100 ° C and below 0°C. To get rid of this problem, coolants were formulated. Coolants are categorized chemicals that increases the boiling point of the fluid and decreases the freezing point of the fluid to make it suitable for use in extreme heat and freezing conditions. Coolants are a proportionate mixture of antifreeze and solvent, mainly glycol and water. Ideally utilized as a preventive in

Antiscalant Chemical for RO Plant

Reverse Osmosis System is a revolutionary invention to treat water and provide an effective solution for purifying water in various applications. The performance of RO can be ensured by the formation of scale and deposits on the membranes, leading to reduced efficiency and increased operational costs.   To prevent this issue, antiscalant chemicals play an important role in reducing the formation of scale and maintaining optimal RO Plant performance. Reverse Osmosis is widely used in various industries to treat water and to remove impurities such as salts, minerals, and other contaminants. The dense, thin, and semi-permeable layer allows water molecules to pass through while rejecting dissolved solids, and other impurities such as salts, minerals, and other contaminants. But the major issue that surfaces in such systems is the formation of scales due to the build-up of dissolved minerals and salts on the surface of the RO Membrane.
