Coolant Corrosion Inhibitor accounts for providing excellent protection to metallic surfaces

Cooling process of automobiles is an important technology as it is directly or indirectly affecting the engine's performance, fuel economy, vehicle aerodynamics, passenger comfort and maintenance, and life span of other components in vehicles, etc. On account of high heat of dissipation, large radiators are now commonly found which finally results into supplementary rise in viscosity and boost the fuel consumption. Therefore, coolant serves as a crucial part of engine's system which helps to cope up with all these challenges faced by the heavy automobile industries.

Coolant serves to be an important part of automobiles engine system by providing protection to the engines from freezing and to the other parts as well as components of the vehicles against corrosion. It helps to sustain the overall heat balance by effectively discarding heat energy. Thus, coolant aids in ensuring an effective performance of the engine in the near future.

Generally, a good coolant must comprise of base fluids in 50:50 ratios of glycol and water. The major glycols used in the coolant are propylene glycol and ethylene glycol. Although it is accepted that ethylene glycol based fluids when used, offers the greatest economical performance advantage. Propylene glycol based coolants or low temperature heat transfer fluids can be used in locations where a low toxicity product is necessary and due to the toxicity of ethylene glycol it cannot be used. In addition to these, there are other components that formulate a perfect coolant such as corrosion inhibitor, dyes, antifoam, and other additives.

Coolant Corrosion Inhibitor is used for inhibiting engine or coolant internal surfaces from the attack of corrosion. These inhibitors are composed from the finest grade rust inhibitors and other compositions to ensure efficient reduction in mineral scale deposits and sludge. This Coolant Corrosion Inhibitor accounts for providing excellent protection to metallic surfaces from corrosion with its unique features like anti-corrosive, high effectiveness, enhance system life, scale prevention, and save power.

H2S – A Silent Ultimatum to Oilfields

H 2 S Scavenger Chemical – Introduction The world has witnessed a substantial increase in E&P of crude oil to meet the need for globalization, leading to drilling of ‘deemed undesirable’ sites, owing to the presence of higher concentration of acidic gases like hydrogen sulphide, carbon dioxide, etc. These hazardous gases require proper measures before disposal or scavenging. Of these, Hydrogen sulphide/ H 2 S is the most threatening one, especially in confined or ill ventilated places. The characteristic rotten egg smell makes H 2 S recognition easy even at lower concentrations. Hydrogen Sulphide is toxic, acidic and extremely corrosive at higher concentrations. Heavier than air, it is found more near base level of the working sites. Then comes its inflammability, which may cause explosive reaction with air molecules. With peroxides, ammonia and other oxidizing chemicals, H 2 S often goes through combustible reactions, ...

Acid Corrosion Inhibitor – Chemtex Speciality Limited

Acid Corrosion Inhibitors are the most important inhibitor of any operation, preventing the impact of corrosion on exposed metal, tubular, downhole equipment, and surfaces and maximizing longevity, minimizing the operational cost. Corrosion is the chemical interaction with the environment that cause the deterioration of materials and it is unavoidable for all metals. When acids come into contact with metals, they initiate chemical reactions that lead to corrosion. Acid corrosion inhibitors work by forming a protective layer on the metal surface, which acts as a barrier against the corrosive acids. This layer prevents direct contact between the acid and the metal, thus inhibiting the corrosive process.
